Good news and bad news OR a month in the life of a farm

The BAD NEWS:  On May 8th we had a horrendous thunder & lightning storm and our baby Fancy was  struck by lightning and died.  We were devestated and I haven’t posted about it before now as I can’t think of her with out crying.  We all loved that girl and she was perfect.  Her loss is HUGE and vastly upsetting.  Since she was going to be her dam’s replacement instead of MMM Paid the Piper and she is now gone, we have removed Piper from our sale list and will be retaining her as the Moonlight Money Maker X Chocolate Snowflake filly in our broodmare band since Chocolate is an elderly mare and we may not get any more foals from her.   Chocolate has mild arthritis and we may retire her from breeding soon.

The GOOD NEWS:  Moonlight Sun God has been sold and will be going to his new home soon.  He will be going into training to be a young man’s next eventing horse and I know thier partnership will be a good one. Sunny really likes his new owner and they seem to be a good fit with each other.

The GOOD & BAD NEWS:  Our girls are making us wait!  Dunrovin Freya and Sonora still have not foaled.  They are both comfortable and HUGE, but not ready to give those babies up yet!  I hope to post new baby photos SOON, once these girls foal!
