Are Splash Sabino Arabians purebred?
YES! Historically called parti-colored, part-colored or pinto Arabian; spotting has
been in the Arabian breed since the desert. They were highly prized by the
Bedouin tribes and the "best mares" were often multi-colored according to
historical documents, drawings and legends. Many of the Crabbett horses had
body white and other flashy markings. Sabino can be found in many highly
prized bloodlines in the Arabian breed. All our horses have been parentage
verified through blood typing and/or DNA. All our purebred splash sabino foals
are guaranteed registrable with the Arabian Horse Registry.
Aren't all Splash Arabians deaf?
NO! While other breeds have had the splash gene possibly linked to deafness,
there has been no evidence of deafness in our bloodlines. The stallion our
program is based on: Moonlight Money Maker (MMM) is not deaf, nor were his
sire (Blaz-ons Bandit) or grand-sire (The Boogeyman) who were both blue
eyed black splash. All of our splash Arabian foals have been fine, none have
been deaf. MMM's first splash grand-daughter STM Eureka, born 2007, is also
not deaf.
Do you deliver/haul horses?
YES! We offer free delivery of any of our horses with in 100 miles of the
farm in NW, PA. We will ship farther but buyer will have to pay a shipping
fee of approximately 80 cents per mile. We also offer shipping locally in the
NE on a case by case basis at a reasonable rate. Inquire for details and/or a
shipping quote. We are temporarily unable to haul horses as our truck has bit
the dust-until we can replace our truck no hauling. Sorry for any inconvience
this may cause.
Do you accept payment terms on sale horses?
Sort of. We will accept payment terms with the following conditions: a 1/3
deposit must be paid in full up front and is non-refundable. While we prefer
the balance to be paid in full by the end of the 60 day training period (if
offered) we MAY accept other payment terms on a case by case basis.
Usually a term of a year is acceptable for the balance, horse will remain in our
name until paid in full and a purchase contract is required. There are other
restrictions, inquire.
Do you accept trades for horses/stud fees?
Possibly. We will consider partial trades on our sale horses for a bumper pull 2
horse trailer in excellent condition, 4 wheel drive truck with tow package in
excellent condition, small car in excellent condition or purebred sabino or cremello
registered mares that are breeding sound (breeds considered: Arabian, Morgan,
Welsh). We will consider trading stud fees to our stallions, for the above as
well.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, US Postal Money orders or Paypal. Credit cards are accepted
through Paypal. Due to the large number of Internet scams we DO NOT accept
bank checks or cashier checks of any kind. Payment must be made 2-3 weeks
prior to ship/pick up date to allow funds to clear.
What is the Sport Pony Project?
Exceptional colored Sport Ponies are very hard to find. We have had success
in breeding an ideal Sport Pony by crossing our stallion, Moonlight Money Maker
to select cob type pony mares. The resulting foals have been in the desirable
and hard to get height range of 13.3 to 14.2 hands-small enough to qualify as
a pony but big enough for the large child/small adult rider. They have been
colorful, athletic and have their sire's exceptional temperament. In 2009 we are
adding some Haflinger mares to this project. All foals are eligible for registration
as half-Arabians and most are eligible for PtHA registration as well.
